Why do we do it?

Our terry products are made with ultra-soft certified organic long staple Turkish cotton. GOTS is the absolute highest standard of organic certification that can be achieved and ensures that certified products like ours maintain these standards all the way from the farm to your home. With respect to “long staple” cotton, the longer the staple, the softer, smoother, and more durable the cotton.

Since our terry is 100% natural, it is best to avoid harsh chemicals and high heat when washing and drying. Please follow these simple washing instructions to get the longest life from your new towels:

1.) Machine wash with a cold, gentle cycle. Wash separately. Do not bleach. We recommend using bio-based detergent like the one from Dirty Labs® and chlorine-free bleach which are nontoxic and better for the environment.

2.) Tumble dry on a gentle cycle and low heat. Low or no heat is always better for the environment because it does not require as much energy (i.e. emissions) and extends the life of your products.

TIP: Spot treat tough stains with either diluted chlorine-free bleach or hydrogen peroxide, which are essentially the same thing, and allow it to sit on the stains for 30 minutes prior to washing.

TIP: Bio-based or enzyme based detergents work best in cool to lukewarm water (NOT hot). Not only are they more effective at lower temps, using cooler water reduces your emissions and extends the life of your products.
